As a student at Los Medanos College, one small but frustrating issue I have noticed is the vending machines on campus not being fully stocked. For several days in a row, I have walked by multiple machines and have yet to see one filled completely with snacks or drinks. They do eventually get filled but it seems to be when they’re nearly empty. This might not seem like a big issue at first, but it really affects students who stay on campus for long hours and depend on these machines when other food options are not available.
When the cafeteria and Student Union close, vending machines become one of the only convenient ways for students to grab something to eat or drink quickly. If they are empty or poorly maintained, it leaves students with almost no choices. Restocking the machines more often would show students that their needs are being considered, especially those who take evening classes.
Sincerely,
Ramiro Espino
