The LMC women’s soccer team is looking forward to next season, where their core of veterans and rising stars will hopefully dominate the competition. The Mustangs are coming off of their most successful season ever, and with many returning players filling out their ranks, the team seems set up for success.
The Mustangs midfield was special last year, maintaining a dominating presence over their opponents. The speed of play was what made it so powerful, with most teams not being able to keep up with the intensity.
Scoring a total of 55 goals across 19 games, the Stangs showed their dominance in the scoring department as well, ranking 18th in the entire state.
The majority of the midfield were sophomores last year, and much of the incoming talent will fill that void, according to No. 26 Adison Judd, a returning player this year.

Judd was responsible for eight goals for the team last year, with a dangerous long range ability from midfield. The team hopes to keep that up with the new talent they are bringing in.
“I am excited to see who will be joining me in the midfield this next season,” Judd said.
Last year was their most successful ever and they hope to keep that up going into next year.
With the strength of the team last year coming from their chemistry on and off the field, building that bond with the new team will be crucial for maintaining their success.
“Going into training before the season the players are getting to know each other, preparing for the next season,” said No. 12 Elyse Baldwin.
The goals they are working towards are even bigger than last year, as they have the momentum to make an even deeper run this season.
“I think the highlight of next season would be making the playoffs again and building momentum from last season,” she said.
With a lot of history being made last year, this team has a lot to live up to.
