This Tuesday on September 9, K-pop group Tomorrow X Together performed in San Jose for the first stop of their U.S. tour, after a successful tour last year fans were anticipating their return. The group consists of 5 members, Choi Soobin, Choi Yeonjun, Choi Beomgyu, Kang Taehyun and Huening Kai. None of the members have official positions which gives fans the idea that no member has a particular strength, they each have equal talents and technique which makes the group even stronger.
The concept of K-pop concerts is something unique when compared to your typical American artist tour. Fans walk around the venue handing out freebies, which they created items relating to the group, whether it be stickers or photocards the creative side of fans was showcased heavily before, during and even after the show.
Member Yeonjun was a previous resident of San Jose, making this concert even more memorable for both fans and the members, Tomorrow X Together or TXT, is known for their high energy and jarring performances and they certainly showcased that during the show. Before the show started, the members appeared in the audience, interacting with fans.
They then hit off the show with ‘Lover = Loser,’ fans instantly began singing and jumping along to the music. The concert consisted of 28 songs, including five solos which were performed by each member, Yeonjun performing ‘Ghost Girl’ and Huening Kai performing ‘Dance With You’ being a high point during the show. Some other fan favorite songs were also showcased, ‘Blue Hour’, ‘Deja Vu’ and ‘No Rules’ were some of the stick out performances, the energy of the fans as well as the energy from the members made the entirety of the show immensely entertaining.
The group’s performance was heavy hitting and impressive from the start and they kept that energy throughout the entire show. There were moments that you could tell the members were tired but they kept a smile and continued with ease. The concert also included some fan participation, with the members wanting to hear fans singing along to the music, vibe and overall have a wonderful time.
The members were very vocal and made it a point in showing that the fans energy was helping them push through to the end of the show, the fandom is definitely expecting the group to stop in the city again because of the heavy praise received. The group has only just started the tour and still has eight more stops in the U.S. with LA being next, fans for future stops are expecting a killer performance and can’t wait to see what else they have to showcase over the rest of this month.
