The Battlefield franchise has consistently been one of the most popular video games throughout its years on the market. It was one of the first ever FPS games to reach a grand audience, appealing to the masses with its gameplay that mixes in a giant sandbox that features destructible areas that you could blow up. This recipe for success has followed the Battlefield series since it was first introduced, shaping and evolving as time went by, with new gameplay features constantly introduced.
‘Battlefield 6’ is the newest addition revealed on July 24. The game was produced by Dice, Ripple Effect Studios, Criterion Games, Motive Studio and Ridgeline Games. Published under EA, the game was a long process of hard work from developers building up a game players would love. Transparency and dedication was at a high point during the development process, as they listened to fans’ ideas and ways they could implement them into the game. Developers and leads on the project were met with a giant influx of supporters due to this more consumer-friendly process.
The game received a beta during the development process and the results were astounding. The beta received over 500,000 concurrent players during its release which took place this early August. It received much love even in its most early form. It is no wonder that on release the game reached 7 million copies in only 3 days, a new record for the Battlefield franchise. The game featured many veterans of the industry, but the main lead for this project was Vince Zampella, who guided the production and philosophy of the development team.
The game has two major modes, the single player campaign, is the more story driven part of the game focused more on introducing a new player into the Battlefield series. Through a well thought out and compelling story, it features a conflict of course but through the perspective of Nato troops on the ground in the caucuses which sit between the Middle East and Europe, acting as a bridge between the two areas.
The story itself is relatively short, only being about 4 hours long on regular difficulty. The main mode is the multiplayer mode. It is one of the most addicting games I have played for a while. You can start as an infantry troop, sniper or tank operator. The game leaves room for every type of person to have some fun. This game is very fun and an enjoyable piece of art.
