Painting the trees is a celebration for those graduating as they hit a milestone in their educational journey. In recent years, students and faculty on campus decorated the trees with ribbons in order to celebrate. This year, Carlos Montoya, Vice President of Business Administration Services and many other volunteers had brought the community together. Montoya helped by applying tape to each of the trees as volunteers such as Cristine Navarrete, college human and resources assistant, painted below the line. The event was organized by Cesar Reyes and lasted from 11 am to 2 pm. Within the first hour, 15 volunteers had begun to paint the trees. Their main goal was to paint all 62 trees around campus before graduation. The total event lasted from Tuesday all the way till Friday. The event took place in front of the library. Student and Faculty members can be seen painting one of the trees red in order to signify the colors of LMC. Carlos Montoya estimates how much space there is for volunteers to paint.
