Los Medanos College’s performing arts department is now showing “Love, Time, and Letters.” The play is based on a true story and written by LMC Alumni Clinton Sikes.
It centers around a man named Patrick, who hitchhikes across the U.S. in the 80s. Along the way, he meets all sorts of people, and his connections with them are retold through various letters he recounts and reads.
Several themes are present throughout, showing how keeping in contact with friends and family on the road can be very promising. Yet at the same time, it tackles the challenges of loneliness of being a hitchhiker; we see Patrick attempt to balance his relationships with friends along his travels.
This play will set the stage for its opening night May 9 at the Little Theater on the Pittsburg campus.
Tickets can be purchased online under the Drama “Now Playing” tab on the LMC website, or at the door on the day of a show, if seats are available. General admission prices begin at $15, students and service members at $12 and students with high school and middle school IDs at $10.
