Los Medanos College is filled with talent waiting to be discovered, starting next semester students will have the opportunity to share it. The student art exhibit set to open April 9 is an opportunity for artists to showcase their work to a public audience and earn awards.
All currently enrolled students at LMC are welcomed and encouraged to submit work as part of the exhibit in the art gallery on campus.
There will be a multitude of categories for different mediums of art that students wish to create or already have that fall under digital art, drawing, graphic design, mixed media, painting, photography, ceramics, animation and sculpture.
Students may submit two pieces of work per category. If a category gets less than five submissions, it will be combined into a similar group.
There are virtual and physical image requirements for the submissions. Accepted file types are PNG or JPG and can’t surpass five megabytes.
Two-dimensional work can be no larger than 40 inches by 40 inches, a minimum of ten inches by eight inches. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 48 inches by 30 inches.
Any work submitted must be created between Dec. 15 2023 and April 2025. The entry deadline is March 19, 2025.
After the submission deadline, work can be dropped off in the gallery March 24, 25, and 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
The exhibit will run from April 9 until May 7, 2025.
