The Los Medanos College football season wrapped up on Saturday, Nov. 13 at a home game against Contra Costa College, where the latter team won 21-42. LMC Coach Chris Shipe said the team played well.

“I thought we did a good job of competing at a high level versus our crosstown rivals. The final score does not show how close that game really was,” said Shipe. “Unfortunately we did not make enough plays at the end to win the game.”

Before the game, the team celebrated the sophomore players Thomas Houston (safety), Josiah Porter (linebacker), Jaylen Tregle (quarterback), Raymel Cruel (Safety), Albert Howard (quarterback), AJ Virk (safety) and Isaiah Pitts (defensive line). The teammates and their families were recognized as they came out on the 50th-yard line.

“From where we started the season, compared to how we finished the season, we were two different teams during that time.  Our young men came to practice every day and worked their tails off, and as a coach that’s all you can ask for,” said Shipe.
