Our school, our campus and our story should only be defined by ourselves. I believe that our newspaper should be more than just pages of articles, but instead a reflection of the community we have created here. Amplifying every voice, every concern and every perspective, the staff of the Los Medanos College Experience strives to leave no stone unturned.
As your fellow student I would like to say thank you. Thank you to all of the students balancing work, family and classes. Thank you to all of the clubs and learning communities building spaces for creativity and belonging. Thank you to all of our faculty and staff who dedicate themselves to helping us succeed.
Our campus is filled with amazing people doing amazing things, and as Editor-in-chief, I would like to highlight these unique stories all around us waiting to be told.
My hope is that this publication becomes something where we can all share these stories and celebrate each one. Something for students to actually look out for and get excited about.
This year, our team’s goal is to cover the things that matter to us as students. That means reporting on the big events everyone talks about, but also the smaller wins that deserve just as much recognition. We want to make this paper something you actually want to read, something that feels like it belongs to all of us.
At the end of the day, it’s up to us to make this year what we want it to be. Our publication belongs to you, the students. This is not just about news, it’s about us creating something enjoyable, enriching and unforgettable together. My challenge to you is simple: get involved. Share your stories, send us your ideas and help us make this year one to remember.
Once again, this is our school, our campus and our story. Let’s write it together
