Dear Editor,
As a student at Los Medanos College, finding a parking spot before class can be an extremely stressful situation as the ratio of students to parking spots is drastically different. Many students, myself included, have to arrive on campus 20 minutes early in order to secure an open space.
With the amount of students that commute and the increase of enrollment, the demand for more parking is higher than ever. While there are alternate solutions such as, riding a bike, or walking, the main source of transportation is a car. I believe that LMC should address this problem and expand their parking lots.
I don’t believe that parking should be an obstacle to education. I urge LMC to take action and explore solutions that make commuting to campus less stressful on the students.
