DEAR EDITOR:
We are too dependant on social media. Every day we encounter it, but most of it is not through new sources, it is from friends and family, some clear across the world. When was the last time you woke up and did not check your phone and computer as if it was a daily paper? For most of us, our phones are never out of arms reach and anyone can become a live news feed via their smart phone or computer. It is because of this we have become so reliant on our devices.
We need to respect the powers of this new media. I suggest we take a break, as hard as it may seem, because social and new media is controlling our lives. Next time you receive an alert through your phone try and put it off, control your urges before it controls you, then we’ll see true changes in your life.
