The Experience welcomes Letters to the Editor and Guest Columns. All members of the LMC community — students, faculty and staff — are encouraged to write.
If you are interested in expressing your opinions, bring your submissions to room CC3-301. You may also send them electronically through the Experience online website lmcexperience.com.
Letters and columns must be typed, signed and include a phone number for verification. They may be edited for clarity, content taste and length at the editor’s discretion.
Many times I don’t feel very safe yet I am safe. I don’t know if that is because I am a man with a Don Juan, Fight or Flight complex or if it is because I have a strong muscular build. Yet I do know this. The social construct of this society here at Los Medanos in both Pittsburg and Brentwood make me feel much safer when I see men and women risking their lives. The ever vigilance of a security guard or the shine from an l.e.d. light coming out of a camera certainly make me feel much safer as an immigrant. Considering the sheer size of the campus at LMC in Pittsburg it is easy to see how a villain can make use of an opportune moment. Although no villain myself. Being trained in the art of war has made me notice things, things that can happen at any moment and that is why I say that the LMC school in Pittsburgh is not safe. Until you get cameras that people can see that are watching throughout the whole perimeters of the school with lighting and telephone booths for safety I think the campus is at a level two for security.
