Los Medanos College Women’s Volleyball team hosted a scrimmage against San Mateo Community College on Sept. 4th.

The team’s coach, Lou Panzella, explained that the team was going to be trying something new this year when it came to preseason play. “This year we are taking a different approach with playing tough teams in preseason to get us ready for the actual season, it builds confidence for the athletes” said Coach Panzella.

Coach Panzella is all about moving forward and preparing for the future, “Last season was last season,” said Coach Panzella, “I’m more focused on the present, which is now.”

The team’s chemistry was clear to see through their overall ability to play cohesively with one another. If this is any indicator of what the rest of the season will look like, the team will not have any problems working together as a unit.

The Mustangs lost their scrimmage against San Mateo, scoring 2-5 . The Mustangs also played Consumer River College, winning 3 sets out of the 5 against them.
