This event is part of a four-part series on issues of equity and social justice titled “Urgent Conversations: Educational and Social Justice Forums.”

This is a panel discussion seeks to provide a historical understanding of how policing developed in the US in a racial context, examine how police-sanctioned violence and use of force has progressed, and tools to understand current calls to defund and abolish the police. Q and A will follow the panel discussion.
